The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) has been granted the formal status of “other international body” by the Swiss Government.

In a special ceremony held in Bern today, David Harland, HD’s Executive Director, and Ambassador Valentin Zellweger, Director of the Public International Law Division at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, co-signed the headquarters’ agreement that details the privileges and immunities provided to HD under the Swiss Host-State Act.

“Through this recognition, Switzerland has shown its full support to our organisation,” said David Harland. “HD is greatly honoured to have been granted this special status, which will enhance our ability to help prevent, mitigate and resolve armed conflicts and further anchor our organisation in Geneva, the city of peace.”
