The Oslo Forum retreats attract an illustrious group of senior mediators and other peace-process actors who seek to resolve armed conflict through dialogue. Oslo Forum participants have included Jimmy Carter, Kofi Annan, Federica Mogherini, John F. Kerry, Mohammad Javad Zarif, Juan Manuel Santos, Thabo Mbeki, Martti Ahtisaari, Rodrigo Londoño (Timoleón Jiménez) and Mohammad Khatami. The retreats offer participants the opportunity to engage in honest, issue-focused discussions that go beyond institutional constraints and conventional wisdom. By bringing together key actors from the United Nations, regional organisations and governments, as well as conflict party representatives, war correspondents, private organisations and outstanding analysts, thinkers and experts, the retreats also provide a unique networking opportunity across the entire peace spectrum. All discussions take place under the Chatham House Rule. Participation is by invitation only.
