Project Officer – Northeast Asia
The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) is a private diplomacy organisation founded on the principles of humanity, impartiality and independence. Its mission is to help prevent, mitigate, and resolve armed conflict through dialogue and mediation. HD is currently looking for a Project Officer.
(Fixed-Term Contract)
Location: Flexible
Starting date: 15 September 2022
Contribute to HD’s projects in Northeast Asia, especially the Korean Peninsula Peace Process by providing support to its activities on a full time basis.
Key Responsibilities are:
- Contribute to project management and programming:
- Assist in ensuring the projects are implemented and reported on a timely and qualitative manner according to grant and donor requirements
- Generate ideas and suggestions to project substance and take the lead on one or more thematic tracks of each project
- Draft narrative/review reports for all grants of the project, including monthly updates, interim and final reports to donors
- Draft project descriptions, concept notes and other material discussing the projects
- Contribute to fundraising for the projects
- Manage administrative tasks for projects including contracts, procedures, expenses claim, controlling invoices
- Organize and facilitate meetings and events in the projects ;
- Oversee day-to-day grant and financial management of the projects;
- Contribute to overseeing the work of project-related consultants and manage administration of consultants (contracts and invoices);
- Monitor political situation of relevant regions and compile a weekly bulletin of English and Korean language news on the Korean Peninsula;
- Research and analyze subjects related to the projects;
- Manage and maintain project documentation;
- Represent and promote HD in various contexts to establish, maintain, and strengthen links with related parties and partners;
- Position requires travel.
The ideal candidate should be politically astute, have strong organisational and communication skills and relevant work experience in Northeast Asia. The candidate should have relevant university degree in international relations and commitment to conflicts resolution and related humanitarian issues. The candidate must be fluent in English and Korean.
The position will report to the Senior Adviser and can be based anywhere.
