Finance and Admin Associate MENA

The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) is looking for a Finance and Admin Associate MENA (100%).

Fixed-term for 12 months

Location: Based in Geneva

Starting date: ASAP

The Finance and Admin Associate will coordinate the donor grant and related finance and administration operations of the project through the Finance Officer. S/he will provide administrative and financial support to MENA team, ensure compliance and liaise with different stakeholders regarding finance and administrative operations and procedures in coordination with the Finance Officer.

Reporting to the Syria Project Manager, the Finance and Admin Associate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Review the financial reports and supporting documents related to HD’s financial support to third parties while ensuring compliance to HD and donors’ standards;
  • Prepare and control the invoices, relevant finance forms, working advances, and the payment requests for bank transfers to third parties before obtaining the appropriate approvals;
  • Support the Project Manager and Finance Officer in the preparation and follow-up of budgets and amendments, and coordinate audits; manage inventory and procurement;
  • Review consultants’ expenses claims, monthly invoices and timesheets;
  • Contribute to establishing contractual arrangements of consultants;
  • Contribute to a proper transmission of administrative and financial information within the project team;

The successful candidate should have:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant financial and administrative experience;
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field;
  • Fluency in English and fluency/very good working knowledge of Arabic;
  • Experience in the non-profit sector;
  • Experience in overseeing implementing partners is desired;
  • Ability to manage financial operations;
  • Experience in maintaining administrative tasks;
  • Experience with donor grants, especially EU grants, is an asset;
  • Ability to travel abroad.

Personality: the successful candidate should be proactive, with experience in working in an international environment, independently but in coordination with relevant departments. S/he must be flexible in reassigning priorities and at ease in a changing and dynamic environment.
