Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue

Our venue

Our venue

In line with its mission to resolve conflicts through dialogue, to advance policy on conflict resolution issues, and to improve peacemaking expertise, the HD Centre has established itself as a unique and independent forum for the exchange of ideas. The HD Centre:

  • Promotes the use of its three conference rooms facing Lake Geneva by other humanitarian and conflict resolution organisations, for their own meetings.
  • Organises its own events, including conferences, meetings and panel discussions, on pressing conflict-related issues.

Based in the Villa Plantamour, a beautiful 18th century Genevan building on the shores of the Lake Geneva, the HD Centre has three meeting rooms which it makes available, for free, to the humanitarian and peace-building communities.

In doing so, it wishes to provide those organisations with a forum where to hold their meetings, conferences, and discussions. All events hosted by the HD Centre should be organised around humanitarian or peace-building issues.

Using the HD Centre meeting rooms

The three meeting rooms overlook the lake and the Mont Blanc. The largest can host up to 28 people seated, while the two side rooms can each hold around 12 people. This venue is available from Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.45pm.

The Villa Plantamour is based in the Park Mon Repos, at the entrance of the City of Geneva, which is also the heart of the capital of humanitarian affairs, with easy access to the United Nations and many NGOs that have decided to make this city their headquarters.

The HD Centre is only fifteen minutes away from Geneva airport, five minutes away from Geneva central train station (by car), and at walking distance from some of the world's most prestigious hotels and restaurants, as well as a variety of cheaper alternatives. Well situated, the Villa can be easily accessed via bus or tram (consult our map).

If you wish to book a meeting room, please fill in and return the booking form, or contact the HD Centre to check conference room availability, by phone +41 (0)22 908 11 30, or by email: venue@hdcentre.org.
