This report presents the PERV initiative and activities carried out in recent months in Sulu, Mindanao.
The Oslo forum 2011 took place in Oslo, from 21-23 June 2011. It brough together 90 participants to exchange experiences and to reflect critically on the practice of mediation.
This year's participants included Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jonas Gahr Støre; Qatari Assistant Foreign Minister For Follow-up Affairs, Mohammed Bin Abdullah Bin Mutib Al Rumaihi; South Africa Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Marius Llewellyn Fransman; and Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov.
This meeting report provides a summary of the discussions and highlights a number of cross-cutting issues which emerged during the retreat. Background material for the Oslo forum 2011 is also available on the Oslo forum website (www.osloforum.org).
This report (Section IV of the report) presents the activities undertaken by the HD Centre in 2010. It takes a look at the work of the organisation internationally highlighting the HD Centre's achievements, in Somaliland, Darfur and the Philippines, and the views of staff in Asia, Africa and Europe. It also presents 2010 highlights, including the celebration of the HD Centre's tenth anniversary and its work on UN Resolution 1325 which seeks to promote the contribution of women to peacemaking. Additionally, the report puts forward a selection of HD products - publications, videos, and podcats - produced throughout the year.
