Introduction

The crisis in Kenya was sparked by the disputed results of the December 2007 Presidential elections. The crisis has claimed more than 1,000 lives and has left hundreds of thousands displaced. At the request of Mr Kofi Annan, the HD Centre has provided him and the Panel of Eminent African Personalities with support in the mediation of the Kenya National Dialogue and Reconciliation.
