Introduction

The international community is showing an increasing commitment to addressing the needs of civilians suffering in conflict at the hands of armed actors,  in particular the protection of civilians and the safe access by humanitarian organisations to those most in need.

Humanitarian mediation to protect civilians caught up in conflicts is at the heart of the HD Centre´s mission. The organisation uses its conflict mediation experience in an attempt to end conflict, but also to help address the immediate humanitarian needs of the affected population.
