Nicholas William Peter Clegg (born 7 January 1967), known as Nick Clegg, is the British Member of Parliament for Sheffield Hallam and, since 18 December 2007, leader of the Liberal Democrats. He was appointed to the Privy Council on 30 January 2008 and affirmed his membership on 12 March 2008. Clegg was born in Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire in 1967, the third of four children.
